Society stressors, environmental stressors and family influences, shape how we perceive the world and ourselves. It is unfortunate that we at times are governed by our emotions, we hold onto the negative scripts; that inner critic, which dictates how we think and maneuver through life.
What I hear the author saying is that we become pros at blaming ourselves for everything, we must learn to give ourselves some grace.
I appreciate the authors use of humor; noting it is okay to embrace those not so good moments. The author suggest that it may be worth the time to spend in “Hotel Negativity” in an effort to sit with your emotions or situation, to work through them, rather than pushing them down.
